Interview with Anouar Diba

(www.TheAtlasLions.com/15-9-2005) Here's an exclusive interview with NAC Breda striker Anouar Diba.

1-Tell us who is Anouar Diba?

-Anouar Diba is born and still lives in Utrecht. I am 22 and married.

2-When did you start playing football, tell us about your football career?

-I start playing football since age of 6 with an amateur club. When I was 13 I joined PSV and from there I went to FC Utrecht and now I have been playing for NAC Breda for 5 years.

3-Do you often go to Morocco? and where do you live in Morocco?

-I go every year to Morocco. I live in Ain-Zohra. I know that this destrict is very unknown to most of you.

4-Tell us about your new season with NAC Breda?

-I expect a lot from this season. I think that it's time to go a step higher and for that I will surely do my very best.

5-You played two friendlies with Morocco u23, how was it to play for Morocco?

-To me playing for Morocco is still the best thing there is.

6-Were you disappointed when you heard that you weren't selected for the Olympic games in Athens?

-I was very disappointed. I even dare to say with certainty that the selection was not done with fairness. To me they should have certainly selected me!

7-Have you been contacted lately by the national coach Badou Zaki to play for the national team?

-No, I did not speak to him.

8-What do you think Morocco chances are to qualify to the World Cup 2006? Do you believe that Morocco can beat Tunisia in Rades and qualify to the World Cup?

-They have fifty-fifty chance to qualify. It depends on the line up. I would prefer to see Boussaboun and Sektioui in the starting line up.

9- Would you like to stay in Holland or play abroad?

-It doesn't matter that much.

10-Did you get any offers from other clubs? If yes from which clubs?

-Yes I did, but I'll keep the names of the clubs for myself.

11-Do you have contact with other Moroccan players in Holland and aborad?

-Yes, Ali Boussaboun with whom I keep good contact, further with Nourdin Boukhari, Ali El Khattabi, Youssef El Akchaoui and Samir El Gaaouiri.

12-What do you do in your free time?

-Nothing special, I spend much of the time with my wife.
